The organization of the Second Trans-Pyrenean Youth Forum to be held in Hondarribia (Basque Country) on the first weekend of October, organized by the Pyrenees Work Community, has encouraged the group of participants to follow, via video conference, the Euromontana conference called “ The future of Mountain areas: challenges and opportunities”. It will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. online and in English.

The meeting will discuss the future of cohesion policy and sustainability in mountain areas. Within the framework of Interreg youth volunteering, this online panel on cross-border cooperation in mountain areas has organized. It´s aimed at young people interested in sustainability and European regional development. To this end, from Interreg, local authorities working in interregional mountain areas throughout Europe have invited to discuss with youth groups the challenges and opportunities of these regions.

The main section of the webinar will consist of a question and answer session in which the registered young people will speak. The meeting will serve to find out what the European Union's Cohesion Policy contributes and how it can be part of the transition towards regional sustainability.

From the CTP it´s considered an "opportunity for young people from one point and another of the Mountain areas of the European Union to get to know each other so that, after the event, they can exchange ideas and put them into practice". The request for participation is possible on the page: https://www.euromontana.org/en/events/30857/  before Wednesday, July 27.

In the month of October, 80 young people from Nouvelle Aquitaine, Occitaine, Catalonia, Andorra, Aragon, Navarra and the Basque Country will meet in Hondarribia, at the Second Youth Forum of the Pyrenees, to discuss Climate Change and its effects to cross-border areas and to the entire planet.
