The Basque delegation, led by the Director of Human Rights and Victims, Jagoba Álvarez, yesterday paid an emotional tribute to the Basque priest Ignacio Ellacuría and the other "Martyrs of the UCA", murdered in El Salvador 35 years ago. The ceremony, which included a wreath laying on the campus of the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA), where they were killed, also remembered the other five Jesuits and the two Salvadoran women who were also killed by an elite commando of the Salvadoran army.
