The Directorate of Scientific policy is in charge or promoting and coordinating the theoretical and applied research programs, designing the necessary tools for the correct execution of the research plans, promote the selection and training programs for research personnel and the infrastructure generation programs in the university and scientific field. We promote measures and actions in order to place the Basque scientific system in the parameters of excellence required in the European Research Area, which will allow the Basque Country to be able to respond to the challenges that arise both locally and internationally.

The Basque Government reinforces cross-border scientific cooperation in the "LTC Sarea Encounter 2026"

The LTC Sarea network has been promoting strategic collaboration between the Basque Country and Nouvelle-Aquitaine for more than a decade. The event announces a new Cross-Border Cooperation Laboratory (LTC) promoted by the University of the Basque Country and the Université de Bordeaux The Director of Science Policy of the Basque Government's Department of Science, Universities and Innovation, Amaia Esquisabel, has inaugurated the "LTC Sarea Encounter 2026", a forum that brings together senior and junior research staff from the Cross-Border Cooperation Laboratories (LTC) and the LTC Incubators of the Basque Country and Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
