My mission as Basque Government Minister of Health is to manage the health system and preserve the health of the people who live in the Basque Country. This is possible by working with Osakidetza - the Basque Health Service, a benchmark entity for providing universal and quality care.

We at the Department of Health, with the support of the team of professionals, are working on all those areas that contribute to the well-being of the public, which include public health, prevention, health care to those who need it most, pharmacy, research and innovation and coordination with the social health sector.

This will be the COVID Legislature and the urgent need remains continuing to deal with this pandemic. Until the time we have a vaccine and the effective treatment, we will have to live with the virus, and we must therefore continue to monitor contacts and prevent the spread of contamination.

The pandemic has made us more aware of the role each person has in our health. We must work to ensure this is preserved and improved. This will be my mission from the Department of Health.
