La Economía Social constituye un pilar fundamental de nuestra economía y sin duda una seña de identidad del tejido productivo vasco, de ahí que nos corresponda impulsar iniciativas tendentes a desarrollar ese entramado económico.
En esa línea de trabajo, promocionamos la participación de los trabajadores y las trabajadoras en las empresas de Economía Social, y difundimos la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial y la economía solidaria, entre otras iniciativas. Además ejercemos la función inspectora e instruimos expedientes sancionadores en materia de cooperativas, y gestionamos el Registro de Cooperativas de Euskadi.

Pérez Barredo affirms that it will be a benchmark for Europe in new models of collective entrepreneurship The Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security, Elena Pérez Barredo, today offered a boost from the Department of Labour and Employment to the establishment of a cutting-edge HUB on the Social Economy that is “a benchmark for Europe in the identification of inclusive, sustainable, solidarity, participatory and collaborative economic strategies,” and which offers “new models of collective entrepreneurship.”
