Euskadi Globala Strategy
During the event, Caballero emphasised the importance of the Euskadi Globala strategy in strengthening the Basque Country's international presence and underscored the need for active participation in the emerging global landscape. "Moving from looking at the global board to playing on the global board" was one of their key messages, alongside the need to actively seek talent, investors and professional profiles.
In this context, Caballero conveyed the message of President Imanol Pradales to the approximately twenty diplomatic representatives, emphasising the importance of ensuring the Basque Country’s presence at the tables where decisions impacting it are made. He also advocated for the Basque Country's rightful place in international forums and the strengthening of its membership in multilateral organisations, emphasising a shared strategy that involves all Basque stakeholders, from the government to businesses and civil society.
Finally, he stressed the importance of creating the Atlantic Macroregion to defend shared interests.
In addition to the breakfast, the Secretary General for International Development and Relations and Euskadi Global has held bilateral meetings this week with diplomatic representatives from Australia, Japan, Poland, Ireland, and others.
