The Ardoaraba wine and food fair will hold its seventeenth edition from December 5 to 8. The coincidence of the holidays on Friday and Sunday has meant the advance of some of the parallel activities such as 'Shop & Wine' (November 28), 'Summum' (November 30) or the presentation of the study 'Who is Who? Women Referents in the wine industry' (December 2).

Mrs. Amaia Barredo, Minister of Food, Rural Development, Agriculture and Fisheries of the Basque Government, believes that “Ardoaraba has become an essential event for our wine culture and as an economic and cultural boost for the Basque Country. The positive impact of Ardoaraba is a reference point with more than 90,000 visitors and positions the territory as a benchmark among the best wine-making areas, generating important benefits for local gastronomy.”

“96% of the participating wineries promote their work here and 100% of the hospitality industry positively values ​​the impact it has on their businesses. Ardoaraba is a commitment to quality and sustainability. Within Ardoaraba, Summum will be held on Saturday, November 30 as an exclusive action” stressed the Minister.

The activity called Summum was born in 2019 with the aim of connecting people who know wine with the stories behind each bottle. Through exclusive meetings with winemakers, oenologists and experts, Summum explores the cultural, historical and technical roots that define the wines of Euskadi, analyses the main trends in the wine sector and invites you to an immersive experience through a tasting that will feature artificial intelligence technology with award-winning wines from Rioja Alavesa and Txakoli wines as protagonists.

The traditional tasting spaces will take place in the Territorial, Fueroak and New squares, tastings with history in palaces and unique spaces of the city, activities in collaboration with shops and hospitality venues. In addition, a Gastronomic Corner will offer educational programming around wine, txakoli and cider, as well as local gastronomy for adults and children. The fourth edition of “SUMMUM by Ardoaraba” will promote a meeting with the best-rated wines of Euskadi in international guides.

Ardoaraba is attended by 36 wineries with 134 different wines, 19 hospitality groups, societies and associations with 55 gastronomic offerings and 60 hospitality and catering establishments that complete the proposals for tasting areas and parallel activities with 221 wine, menu and tapas offerings.
