The Governing Council approves two lines of aid worth €4 million for entrepreneurship programs in Social Economy and agricultural diversification
Government spokesperson María Ubarretxena held her usual press conference this afternoon following the Government Council meeting, in order to report on the main agreements adopted therein.
Ubarretxena reported that, in terms of Economy, Labour and Employment, the Government has approved an aid order of more than €3 million for entrepreneurship in the Social Economy. “This line aims to promote the Basque public-private network of support for the creation of Social Economy companies and their subsequent consolidation, as well as the creation and promotion of these companies and the consolidation of those already created,” she explained.
She also referred to an agreement adopted in the areas of Food, Rural Development, Agriculture and Fisheries for quality-related agricultural diversification in innovation. The aid comes to a total of €900,000 and will be allocated to farms producing hop, bread-making cereals, nuts, goat milk, truffles, table apples, oilseeds, olive-based products and red fruits.
"There will be two types of aid: aid for farm owners whose production involves investments facilitating the development of their activity, and initial aid for farm owners to start up agricultural activities," Ubarretxena explained.
