Bilbao, Basque Country, 2024 05 16

Mrs. Nerea Melgosa, Minister of Equality, Justice and Social Policies of the Basque Government, has shown this afternoon her full support for the Ukrainian community residing in Basque Country, aware that, “especially today, we are experiencing very difficult days in the regions invaded by Russia. Added to this is the constant misinformation and lies that arise from Putin's dictatorial regime. "These are very hard days for Ukraine and for the entire European Union."

Together with Oksana Demyanovych, Nerea Melgosa has participated in the inauguration of the Ukrainian Library, in Ibarrekolanda, which already has more than 300 titles and will be the scene of the cultural activities of the Ukraine-Euskadi (Basque Country) Association.

“First of all, I congratulate you for this exemplary task that you are carrying out as a collective in Basque Country: a magnificent job of integration, participation, support for your families who are still in Ukraine and for those who live here, in our land. Your families are now entirely ours; “Our cultures are enriched by this contact and proximity,” said Melgosa.

As the Minister explained, “the 300 initial titles of this new Ukrainian Library today give life to the cultural and historical base that characterizes our European Union. These thousands of pages and writings will soon be multiplied with new references and digital files that our daughters and sons will consult and write in their constant acquisition of knowledge for the development of a better society: more humane, supportive, sustainable, and democratic.”

“I´m aware that, especially today, there are very difficult days in the regions invaded by Russia. Added to this are the disinformation and lies that arise from Putin's dictatorial regime. These are very hard days for Ukraine and for the entire European Union. Ukraine needs support more than ever. “Europe must show that collaboration and support until the defeat of those who want to end our democracies,” said Nerea Melgosa.

The Basque institutional head of Cooperation and Human Rights has stressed that “The Basque Country is a very small country that once suffered the aggression of a cruel dictatorship. Therefore, in everything we can, we are with your people. I hope that from the pages of your books letters emerge that surpass the nonsense of bullets and bombs”.

Gardentasuna falta den hirugarren herrialdeetatik negozioak bideratu izan balira, zigorrak paper bustian gera daitezke, baldin eta, gainera, lehengaien prezioak igotzen badira, joan-etorri gehiago egitea konpentsatzeko.

Si hubiera canalización de negocios por terceros países donde falta la transparencia, lo que pueden suponer sanciones se puede quedar en papel mojado cuando además se aumenten precios materias primas para compensar el fiasco mayores desplazamientos.
