A total of 36 Basque companies are participating in EMO Hannover 2023, which the German city is hosting this week and which is the world's largest fair dedicated to advanced manufacturing technologies. Focused mainly on machine tools for cutting and shaping metals and production systems, precision tools, automation and industrial digitisation, EMO Hannover is “the benchmark event in the sector,” according to AFM Cluster, the organiser of the state presence at this event.
Basque companies have the support of the Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment, Arantxa Tapia; the General Director of the SPRI Group, Aitor Urzelai and the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mikel Amundarain.
Under the slogan Innovate Manufacturing, the world's leading trade fair for the metal industry will present a new independent exhibition area on IoT in production, which will bring together IT solutions of all kinds.
AFM Cluster detailed that in 2019 the EMO Hannover fair attracted 2,211 exhibitors from 47 different countries and around 120,000 professional visitors from 150 nations from all major industry sectors. Examples of those sectors were machinery manufacturers, the automotive industry and its component suppliers, the aerospace sector, precision mechanics and optics, shipbuilding, medical technology, tool and die manufacturing, steel and light construction.
This year, 52 Spanish manufacturers will be presenting their systems at the German trade fair and will occupy more than 5,700 square metres of exhibition space. The fair will be the setting for the presentation of BIEMH 2024 (Bilbao, 3-7 June), in a meeting with the international media present at the event with heads of BEC and AFM, co-organisers of BIEMH
