  • The deadline runs from June 21 to July 20, 2023
  • "Work-life balance measures promote a more balanced and healthy work environment, boost productivity and improve talent retention," explains Melgosa

The Department of Equality, Justice and Social Policies of the Basque Government has already opened the 2023 call for companies, associations and cooperatives to apply for financial aid aimed at promoting the reconciliation of their workforces. With a budget of 420,000 euros, this program aims to support private entities and companies that seek to develop a diagnosis and an action plan to improve the reconciliation between personal, family and work life of their workers.

"We want to continue helping entities that do not yet have a reconciliation plan and that lack the technical resources to develop it," explains Minister Nerea Melgosa.

For the second consecutive year, this program finances up to 70% of the cost of hiring a consultant that will assist entities in preparing a diagnosis of the situation of the company and its staff. In this way, the challenges, possibilities and needs in relation to conciliation are identified to subsequently develop a plan adapted to the company and the workers.

The Minister affirms that "the Basque Government firmly believes in the importance of an effective conciliation for the well-being of workers and for the organizational health and productivity of our business fabric".

The deadline for submission of applications is 20 July 2023. Grants will be awarded to the highest-rated projects, until available funds are exhausted.

The call is open to companies, associations, cooperatives and entities with their own and independent legal personality. Self-employed persons acting as entrepreneurs can also benefit from the aid; However, public entities and those with majority funding from the public sector are excluded.

Applicant companies must meet several requirements, including the absence of a current reconciliation plan, not having received similar grants in 2022 and having a maximum of 250 people on staff. They must also commit to implementing measures in the conciliation action plan within one year of its preparation.

Last year, 44 companies joined the call for aid aimed at promoting the reconciliation of personal, family and work life.
