The Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, accompanied by the Minister for Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment, Arantxa Tapia, has closed the 2023 Company Day, organised every year by ADEGI, recognising the attitude, experience and trajectory of courageous and committed people. “I see a company as the sum of entrepreneurs and workers committed to a common project. The Basque Country of the future will be successful if we have entrepreneurial and hard-working people who are committed to the same goal”, he said.

The event took place at the Fabrika centre, the first High Performance Centre designed for the Cultural Transition of Organisations, where Urkullu shared the promotion of a work and organisational culture based on rootedness and a new working culture, teamwork, investment in training, the culture of efficiency and continuous improvement and the capacity to adapt to new challenges; “also the new concept of the company understood as a common project”.

At the annual meeting of entrepreneurs from Gipuzkoa, the Lehendakari announced that next Tuesday the draft Law on the Basque Finance Institute will be approved by the Governing Council and sent to Parliament. According to Urkullu, the aim is to adapt the regulation of the Basque Finance Institute to the new economic and regulatory reality, “so that we continue to improve our support for our productive fabric, favouring and promoting its growth and consolidation with all the instruments at our disposal”.

PRESENTATION OF AWARDS

During the event, three awards were presented. On the one hand, the ADEGI Award for “Sustainable Business”, which recognises companies in Gipuzkoa that make a clear, concrete and tangible commitment to sustainability, both on a strategic and operational level, was awarded to Ternua Import Arrasate. The ADEGI Award for the “New Company in Gipuzkoa” was also presented to Irisbond S.L., in recognition of this outstanding new company in Gipuzkoa that has been in existence for less than 10 years. Finally, the ADEGI Award for “Cultural Transition” went to the company Spanset, an award that recognises the companies that are working hardest and most determinedly on the cultural transformation of their companies.

The Lehendakari defended the promotion, through collaboration, of sustainability, entrepreneurship and cultural transition. “The Basque Country is facing challenges that require a new attitude and a new culture”, he added.
