DOC Rioja wines prepared in Rioja Alavesa to take part in the well-known World’s Best Vineyards 2023 competition

Rioja Alavesa wineries are set to take part in the prestigious event to be hosted by the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin from 10 to 13 July 2023.World’s Best Vineyards 2023 This annual event is well known for revealing the ranking of the best experiences offered by vineyards and wineries, which enjoys great media coverage worldwide

The event will offer the opportunity to showcase the potential of all the areas that make up the DOC Rioja in the eyes of the committee, made up of more than a hundred people, including the organisers, jury, national and international journalists, as well as leading figures and experts in the sector. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the Rioja wines produced in Rioja Alavesa through an extensive programme with different itineraries, including tastings, visits to wineries and leisure activities.

The programme of visits organised in collaboration with the DOCa Regulatory Council will include the announcement of the World’s 50 Best Vineyards and Wineries for 2023, which will take place on 12 July, when the global ranking will be revealed.

As every year, the list will highlight those wineries that offer unparalleled experiences for visitors and are home to some of the wonders of modern architecture, ancestral and family-owned wineries or Michelin-starred restaurants, among other proposals.

The jury that prepares the ranking is made up of more than 500 world figures from the wine industry, sommeliers and expert travellers, who contribute their nominations based on different criteria such as the landscape, the quality of the experience, the gastronomy, the range of activities on offer, the quality of the service, etc. Based on their evaluations, the results are compiled to put together the final list known as the World’s Best Vineyards.
