
The OGP Basque Country Multistakeholder Forum considered the progress of the commitment groups
On 15 November, the Multistakeholder Forum met to give impetus the implementation process of the OGP Basque Country Action Plan among Basque institutions and the general public.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the seven institutions and entities that are the project promoters (Basque Government, Araba, Bizkaia and Gasteiz Provincial Councils and Bilbao, Donostia-San Sebastián and Vitoria-Gasteiz city councils) and the 7 citizen representatives resulting from the self-selection process overseen by the Basque Innovation Agency – Innobasque: Asociación Mestiza, Women’s Council, Euskadiko Gazteriaren Kontseilua, Sareen Sarea, Councillors from the municipality of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Plataforma Osoigo and professionals from the field of Open Government who provided the technical perspective to the Multistakeholder Forum.
After the previous Minutes were approved, the citizens’ version of the Action Plan was handed out and reviewed. It had been updated as needed after the setting up of the 5 different commitment groups and the comments received by the OGP local government support unit. This version was sent on 30 October and is the starting point for the future work of the 5 commitment groups from now on.
The meeting was told that representatives of the Multistakeholder Forum met with OGP in Madrid on 6 November to gather some initial positive impressions about the plan. It is seen to be ambitious and should lead to significant expectations.
After the initial impressions, each commitment group leader described the state of progress of their task force and the contracting that they will carry out as part of a dynamics of transparency and feedback within the Multistakeholder Forum.
The meeting also discussed the role that the members of the Multistakeholder Forum should play from now on and stressed the importance for each person, as far as possible, to be involved in the commitment groups as active members in the transmission and search for solutions for the different milestones of each commitment.
