Bermeo Tuna World Capital to position the Basque tuna value chain in the international arena

2018 May 18

The BWTC private-public project is seeking to involve the tuna value chain, from the inshore fishing sector and the tuna freezer sector to the gastronomy, and not forgetting the canning industry. This initiative is endorsed by the significant social and economic contribution of the sector, prioritising scientific expertise as the basis for the sustainability of the oceans and which seeks to position the Basque Country in the international arena.

At the end of the presentation, the Basque Government’s Minister for Economic Development and Infrastructures, along with the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Policy, Bittor Oroz, and the Fisheries Sector, Leandro Azkue, took part in the events to mark the Bermeo Arrain Azoka.
