The Ministry of Employment and Social Policies of the Basque Government convenes the second edition of the Safer Internet Day prize
• European Commission-sponsored conference promoting the protection of minors from Internet threats
• Last year, 42 schools and leisure time groups participated
• The initiative promotes collective participation and invites reflection on students' use of the Internet

The Basque Government participates in Safer Internet Day, a day promoted by the European Commission. The initiative promotes responsible and safe use of the internet and new technologies, especially among children and adolescents. The Safer Internet Day is celebrated annually on the second day of the second week of the second month: today, february 7.
The basque Ministry of Employment and Social Policies has organized an audiovisual contest among children and adolescents directed at underage persons who study between 3º of Primary Education and 4º of Secondary Education Obligatory, with the support of an adult person. Its purpose is to promote the safe and responsible use of the Internet among young people through the creation of audiovisuals under the slogan ¡Be part of the change: We join for a safer Internet!.
