The Minister for Economic Development and Competitiveness visits the new Orona premises to be opened in the coming months
The new complex that is part of the Miramon Technology Park is home to Orona IDeO - Innovation City
This afternoon, the Basque Government's Minister for Economic Development and Competitiveness, Arantza Tapia, visited the new Orona premises in Hernani, as the guest of its general manager and current deputy chairman of Mondragon Corporación, Javier Mutuberria, prior to its opening in the coming months.
Tapia, accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Industry, Juan Ignacio García de Motiloa, and by the Deputy Minister for Technology, Innovation and Competitiveness, Estibaliz Hernáez, attended a briefing when the Orona managers explained the Orona Ideo project.
A new innovation and research centre at the Miramon Technology Park to be opened in the coming months.
Orona IDeO - Innovation City will be the first European innovation and research centre for self-sufficiency and sustainable urban mobility. The mobility and accessibility systems of the future will be designed at the 40000-m2 building complex, involving an investment of 70 million euros and where construction is already underway.
Minister Arantza Tapia stressed the commitment by Orona with the backing of the public institutions and which will give further value to the Miramon Technology Park, thanks to the generation of a physical environment that brings together the key R&D&I stakeholders, including the Company the R&D&I Technology Centres and Universities.
