The Basque Government Minister believes that "it is essential to combine the strengths and interests of the different manufacturers"
The main machine tool manufacturers, importers, distributors and purchasers will be at the major industrial event for the year from today until 2 June. A total of 1,171 firms from 25 countries, with 46% of the companies being foreign, will exhibit their state-of-the-art machinery and the latest manufacturing process solutions at the trade show, which will attract visitors from five continents to Bilbao Exhibition Centre. The dignitaries at the opening this morning included the Basque Government's Minister for Industry, Innovation, Trade and Touris, who stressed that the "Machine Tool Biennial is the source of competitiveness and energy efficiency."
During one week, Bilbao Exhibition Centre will become the world benchmark in machine tool innovation with cutting-edge technologies, high quality equipment and turnkey products, adapted to meet all necessities.
Innovation is one of the main indicators of competitiveness in this sector which is also currently underpinned by sustainability, diversification and flexibility as differentiating elements.
The Machine Tool Biennial is held thanks to the coordinated work of the Network of Office for Industrial Promotion and Reconversion (SPRI), answering to the Basque Government, and the Bilbao Exhibition Centre representatives abroad, in conjunction with the Spanish Chambers of Commerce abroad.
