The Minister of Food, Rural Development, Agriculture and Fisheries of the Basque Government, Mrs Amaia Barredo, defended this afternoon at the Ministerial Advisory Council held in Madrid, chaired by Minister Mr Luis Planas, "the position of The Basque Country faces the future CAP, post-2027, with a CAP with its own budget and regional or autonomous plans based on subsidiarity.”
Mrs Amaia Barredo, regarding the Danish presidency's proposal to initiate a consultation schedule on the provisions of the proposed implementation of the new CAP, expressed the “Basque Government's opposition to this debate without first addressing the negotiation of the proposed regulations for the 2028-2034 multiannual financial framework.” “Fisheries policy also requires its own fund or allocation,” Sailburu Barredo demanded.
At the advisory council meeting, Amaia Barredo stated that the "regulatory proposal that includes the CAP within the European Fund for Economic, Territorial, Social, Rural and Maritime Security and Sustainable Prosperity should not share a budget with other policies such as regional, cohesion, or fisheries. It should not be diluted, as it has a central entity."
"We demand that the CAP have its own budget, larger than the one initially allocated, and if the decision is made to eliminate EAGF and EAFRD, a specific fund, in any case. We are radically opposed to the proposal to structure agricultural policy alongside the other policies mentioned, within a single national plan (the so-called NRP or country plan)," Amaia Barredo emphasized.

🚜 Euskadik aurrekontu propioa eta subsidiariotasunean oinarritutako eskualde-planak dituen nekazaritza-politika baten beharra defendatzen du, eta #NPB berria beste politika batzuekin batera egituratzeko proposamenaren aurka dago. -

🚜 Euskadi defiende la necesidad de una política agraria con presupuesto propio y planes regionales en base al derecho de subsidiariedad, y se opone a la propuesta de estructurar la nueva #PAC junto a otras políticas, dentro de un plan único estatal.
