24 Rioja Alavesa wineries (Basque Country) will participate in the "Laguardia in Wine" event on June 7th.

On Saturday, June 7th, "Laguardia in Wine-Laguardia en Vino" will be held, a promotional event for Rioja Alavesa wineries on the international stage. They will showcase their best offerings on the El Collado promenade, within the beautiful walls of the Basque town. The main protagonists are the municipality's wineries, which will present high-quality wines. The unique feature of this event is that all the wines available for tasting come from vineyards located within the municipal area of ​​Laguardia.

"Most are single-vineyard, signature, or unique wines, and it's a unique opportunity to learn about wines and wineries in one place. A celebration for wine lovers and industry professionals," explains Mrs.  Nagore Trepiana, Deputy Mayor of Laguardia.

The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Paseo del Collado Str. with a limited capacity of 500 people. Tickets cost €50, which include a wristband, a souvenir bag, a wine glass, and an event program. Tickets also include a chance to taste all the wines presented at the event and a ticket to redeem for various tapas at the El Puntido restaurant, a taste of local cheeses from “Quesería Moraita”, and live music from Jorge García's band Denorte. Chef Cristian Solana, of El Puntido restaurant, will be preparing four tapas during the event: Roasted Leek Tartlet, Anchovy Fishbone with Cod Brandade, Seasonal Mushroom and Hazelnut Tartlet, and  a Creamy Triple Chocolate Cake—perfect bites to pair with Rioja Alavesa wines.

The town of Laguardia, in Rioja Alavesa, is one of the most iconic corners of the Basque Country. Located in the south of the region, it is known for its vineyards and history. Laguardia (1,472 inhabitants) is a walled town which houses a rich cultural, historical, and gastronomic heritage. Laguardia was founded in the 10th century, as a defence of the Kingdom of Navarre. It is an ideal destination for wine tourism, thanks to its wine culture and wineries.

The best wineries in the basque town of Laguardia will be presenting their wines for tasting at the "Laguardia in Wine-Laguardia en vino" event, aimed at both wine lovers and industry professionals. According to the Councilor for Tourism, Nagore Trepiana, the City Council has a medium- and long-term project with the aim of positioning Laguardia in the world for its wines.
