For the third consecutive year, the Basque Country will be participating in Transfiere 2025, the most important European event on R&D&I and knowledge transfer, which will be held in Malaga on 12, 13 and 14 March. With a focus on talent, scientific-technological development and access to investment, this event has established itself as a key space for generating alliances and synergies.

At its previous edition, Transfiere brought together more than 500 companies and organizations from the R&D&I ecosystem and more than 4,500 professionals. This year, it is expected to exceed these figures, reinforcing its role as a benchmark event in innovation and technology.

The Euskadi - Basque Country stand, located in the E2 area, will serve as a meeting point for companies, research centers and other agents of the Basque innovation ecosystem. Under the slogan "Innovation Land", it echoes the ‘strong innovator’ qualification awarded by the European Commission to the Basque Country in 2023. This distinction places the Basque Country well above the EU average, and among the European countries with the greatest commitment to innovation, on a par with France and only surpassed by countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands.

The institutional delegation in Málaga is led by the Basque Government's Deputy Regional Minister for Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Jaione Ganzarain, together with representatives of the SPRI Group and the Basque Research & Technology Alliance (BRTA), an alliance made up of 17 technology centers and cooperative research centers.

The Basque Country's attendance at Transfiere 2025 reiterates its commitment to innovation, knowledge transfer and the internationalization of R&D&I, positioning itself as a benchmark in the technological and business sphere at a European level. In addition, the Basque Country has a prominent role in the official program with the development of the meeting "Boosting the internationalization of R&D&I of SMEs" with the participation of:

  • Jaione Ganzarain, Deputy Regional Minister for Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation
  • Cristina Oyón, Deputy Director of the SPRI Group
  • Jon Kepa Gerrikagoitia, Scientific-Technological Manager of BRTA
  • Luis Usatorre, Project Manager at TECNALIA
  • Iván Mateos, Commercial Director of ZITU.

The Basque Government is committed to development based on more industry, better industry and fewer emissions, promoting sustainable growth based on innovation and technology as drivers of growth in business competitiveness, as well as tools to address future challenges such as energy transition and digital transformation.
