The Etxepare-Laboral Kutxa Translation Prize will be announced and given on September 30

The Etxepare-Laboral KutxaTranslation Prize been created this year by both entities, in order to recognize the translation of literary works originally written and published in Basque; in this way, the two bodies seek to encourage and promote the translation and publication of literature in Basque beyond our borders.

The recognition is granted under the quality of translation and editorial promotional planning. For this reason the 4000 euros prize will be shared half by the publisher and the author or author of the translation. Moreover, those who receive receive up to 2,000 euros to attend the award ceremony and to continue advocacy in the country of issue.

The announcement of the winning work and the award ceremony itself will take place on September 30 - International Day of Translation- at 12:00 at the new headquarters of the Etxepare Basque Institute (Tabakalera building, 3rd floor).
